Ilona Scherer (*1999) is a Berlin-based photographer working in both artistic-documentary and fashion photography. Her work explores identity, belonging, and the legacies of post-Soviet influences. Growing up in Germany as the child of parents who fled the collapsing Soviet Union, she uses her projects to trace personal and cultural memories. In 2025, she graduated from the Ostkreuz School of Photography with her project БРАТ (Brother) in Irina Ruppert’s class.

studiert Fotografie an der Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin in der Klasse von Irina Ruppert. Ihre Arbeiten kreisen um Themen wie Identität und Zugehörigkeit, oft im Spannungsfeld postsowjetischer Prägungen. Aufgewachsen in Deutschland als Kind geflüchteter Eltern aus dem zerfallenden sowjetischen Raum, sucht sie in ihren fotografischen Projekten nach den Spuren familiärer und kultureller Erinnerung. 2025 schließt sie ihr Studium mit der Arbeit „Brat“ ab. Ilona lebt und arbeitet als Fotografin in Berlin.
